Today was my first chance to get out for muzzleloader season and I was able to snap this awesome picture of a doe through my scope. Unfortunately I did not see any deer worth shooting. Hopefully next week will be more eventful.

Maxpedition B.O.B (Bug Out Bag)

With a gift card from my brother I was able to make a sweet little purchase. I got myself a Maxpedition Falcon II pack. I wanted an everything bag that was small enough I wouldnt notice it on a hike or in the back of my truck. This bag is perfect. It is small and lightweight but at the same time expands to accomadate whatever you want to carry. I mostly plan to use it for hunting and day hikes but in the times i am not, it will stay in my house or truck as a Bug Out Bag. Highly recommend one for anyone looking for a small lightweight backpack.
Esee 3 and Becker Bk14 Field Test

Took the Esee and Becker out for a field test the other day. Seeing how it was squirrel season i figured i would see how they did with skinning. Both did very well and were still hair popping sharp after use. I would say that the Esee had a better factory than the Becker but I have had the Becker for a lot longer and it now has a re-profiled edge which makes all the difference.

Fishing Spear
So I decided to take my Bear Grylls knife out for a little hike today and decided to make a spear like Bear makes in his show. It's fairly simple and very affective. It basically quadruples your killing area. Very smart.

Relaxing next to the fire
I have a little fire ring out back of my house and when I get free time like will go back and build a little fire to relax next to. On this particular occasion I was testing out my Gerber Bear Grylls knife. I processed a decent amount of wood. It did pretty well.
